Police Officers Remove Remains Of Meth Lab

Law enforcement officers were recently able to identify the remains of a meth lab that had been left in a Lawrenceburg alleyway, and safely remove the hazardous materials.

Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that a patrol officer summoned assistance after locating the abandoned lab on Fisher Alley.

The reporting officer indicates that a bag was found that contained a shake bottle with a substance inside, plastic tubing, homemade fittings, cutters, rubber gloves, lye, hydrogen peroxide, drain cleaner, and other items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. They determined that the items had already been used to manufacture the drug.

Officials with the Tennessee Meth Task Force were unable to come to the scene at that time. They instructed officers as they collected and safely contained the items inside a sealed five gallon bucket.

The items were transported to a secure location and members of the task force were able to collect them later that day.

Officials report that investigation regarding the ownership of the lab is currently underway. Anyone who has knowledge regarding the case is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-2276.
